PROJECT DUB: CREATING A FICTIONAL REGGAE GROUP

Dub Attack emerged from the heartbeat of Jamaica’s golden era of reggae, forged in the late 1970s by a collective of seasoned session musicians who crossed paths while recording at the island’s most iconic studios, Studio One and Tuff Gong. At its core were Marcus Zion, Leroy “Rootsman” Clarke, Junior “Flame” Bennett, and Sister Amara—each bringing their own signature sound shaped by years behind the scenes on legendary sessions. Between takes for major artists, they found a shared rhythm born from the energy of Jamaica’s sound system culture. Their recordings weren’t planned, but captured in raw, late-night moments before and after studio sessions.Long scattered and nearly forgotten, these recordings have now been brought together in Roots Reggae Rewind. The album stands as a powerful time capsule, reflecting the spirit, innovation, and authenticity of musicians who helped shape reggae and dub from within its very foundation.

PROJECT CHILL: CREATING A FICTIONAL DOWNTEMPO /ELECTRONICA GROUP

Polaroid Sky is a UK-born indie electronic duo made up of singer-songwriter Isla Monroe and multi-instrumentalist producer Theo Hartley, Blending atmospheric trip-hop textures, UK soul influences, and the laid-back pulse of their adopted borough (Brooklyn).

They first crossed paths years ago in the same local music scene and felt a musical connection and starting writing songs together—but life pulled them in different directions before anything could take shape.

Fate intervened in New York. After each independently relocated to Brooklyn, they ran into each other by chance at a small show, thousands of miles from where they started. What began as a nostalgic catch-up quickly evolved into studio sessions that stretched until sunrise, blending atmospheric trip-hop textures, UK soul influences, and the laid-back pulse of their adopted borough.

Their debut release, A Deeper Shade Of Chill, is a moody, immersive introduction to a duo whose sound feels like a faded photograph developing into something vividly new.
